Our Goals    

      ·    Create an innovative, exciting, and educational facility for the Sioux City community, which enriches the lives of area children and their families

·    Create a safe and educational environment where children of all ages, cultures, and economic backgrounds can come to play and learn together

·    Create a gathering space for families to learn, play and grow together

      ·    Offer programs in areas of music, art, and literature by partnering with local area organizations

      ·    To work with school systems to augment their classroom curriculum as well as offer new and different learning opportunities  

·    To be a "destination place" for tourists

·    To be a financially stable and well-managed organization that is a respected steward of community resources.  

Our Mission

The purpose of the Children’s Museum of Sioux City  is to provide an interactive learning environment that will serve the needs of our children, families, schools and community.  Through hands-on participatory exhibits and innovative programs, the museum will seek to foster imagination and creativity while inspiring life-long learning.

Who We Are... 

Initially started as a project through the Junior League of Sioux City, we are a group of dedicated volunteers who feel that the addition of such a facility is a benefit to all families in the Sioux City area.  With the support of our community, we believe this vision will soon become reality.

The Children's Museum of Siouxland (CMS) seeks to join the growing trend of children's museums worldwide with a proposed $2 million, 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility for children, their families and caregivers.

The CMS is envisioned as a family-orientated, hands-on children’s museum with emphasis on providing educational value while fostering a child’s creativity and imagination.  Targeting children ages 6 months – 10 years, the museum is committed to reaching out to all children and ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
